About Kristen Lingle

I am an Atlanta native with experience in a number of healthcare settings. I have worked in inpatient child and adolescent psychiatric mental health facilities, adult psychiatric mental health facilities, private practice pediatrics, private practice rheumatology, school nursing, and universities. I am a double-board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner and am licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse in the State of Georgia. Given my training in both physical and emotional health, I use a holistic lens when working with each patient, and work closely with other members of a patient’s healthcare team, including pediatricians, internists, nurse practitioners, and dietitians.

Treatment options include psychotherapy, meal support, and medication management. I also have an extensive background in public health, prevention, education, social determinants of health, and social behavior. As a practitioner, I feel passionate about providing individualized person-centered care based on current research and evidence-based practice. I believe thoughts, feelings, and behaviors exist on a spectrum, and that no person’s identity should be a label or diagnosis.

It is a privilege to hear a person’s personal story and to help a person strengthen healthy coping skills and come to their own understanding of how to live a balanced life that reflects their own individuality.

My doctoral dissertation work centers around adverse childhood experiences and access to mental healthcare in the United States. My clinical focus areas include disordered eating, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and fibromyalgia. In addition to providing care with Balance Health Consulting, I provide clinical instruction in mental health to students at Emory University. In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, travel, my two rescue dogs, and time with friends and family.
